Those are indigeous Hala (Pandanus tectorius). Hope your enjoying your visit to our islands! Plenty of quirky endemic biota here. Alas, many are quite endangered.

Sebastian, thank you for the ID. I was pretty those were Pandanus, because I have seen a P. sp in Bermuda, although I knew it wasn't native there. I would love to spend time doing some serious botanizing in Hawaii, but alas, that will have to wait for another trip. I'm back home in Canada now.
